O.Bilorus, Committee Chairman, highly appreciated relations between the countries and expressed his hopes that the inter-parliamentary contacts would contribute to formation of steady bilateral relations between the nations.
O.Bilorus also commented the situation in South Ossetia and Abkhazia. Ukrainian Party is concerned with "mass issues of passports of the Russian Federation at the territory of other States, and frequent cases of double citizenship in Ukraine".
The delegation was headed by Ruprecht Polenz, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of German Bundestag. The Chairman dwelled upon the prospects of Ukraine´s joining the NATO Membership Action Plan, and the necessity of informing Ukrainian population about the NATO.
The Parties discussed the issues concerning labour migration of Ukrainians to Europe, and the procedure of issue of Shengen visas to the Ukrainian citizens. Ukrainian Party expressed its hopes for simplified visa regime between Ukraine and the members of the European Union in future.
